Waste disposal issues:

Paper packaging is often seen as a more environmentally friendly alternative to plastic, but disadvantages such as paper production consumption, paint and ink pollution, and high cost of paper packaging still pose significant challenges to the environment.

Resource Depletion:

Paper catering packaging requires a lot of wood, water and other energy, many of which are non-renewable. At the same time, the bleaching and processing of paper products usually use chemicals such as chlorine and dioxins. If used and managed improperly, these chemicals are not only harmful to health, but also difficult to decompose and cause harm to the environment.

Energy Consumption:

The main raw material for paper packaging is wood, especially wood pulp. In order to meet the growing demand for paper packaging, some countries and regions have overexploited forest resources, resulting in the destruction of forest ecosystems in many areas and the loss of biodiversity. This irresponsible resource exploitation not only affects the ecological balance, but also leads to land degradation and climate change.

Lower Carbon Emissions

Uchampak continuously optimize production processes, develop efficient technologies and equipment, improve energy utilization and reduce waste. We gradually build our own green energy measures to further reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. We optimize transportation methods and routes, provide multiple transportation options based on actual conditions, and reduce carbon emissions during transportation. We have obtained international carbon footprint certification and ISO certificates. We regard environmental protection as an important part of our corporate culture construction.

Reduced Waste

Uchampak, which takes green culture as the focus of corporate culture construction, has been working hard to reduce waste. We improves resource utilization by optimizing design and production processes. It uses renewable materials, reduces the use of chemicals in the production process, increases revenue and reduces expenditure, and reduces pollution and waste through multiple channels. The use of intelligent management and monitoring systems can not only ensure high-standard production of the entire production line, but also promptly identify waste points in the production process and adjust production strategies in a timely manner.

Renewable Resources

Uchampak has been committed to using wood that is legally sourced and meets environmental protection standards, certified by the FSC Forest Stewardship Council. In addition to wood, we are also expanding the use of more environmentally friendly renewable resources, such as bamboo, sugar cane, hemp, herbs, etc. This will reduce dependence on natural non-renewable resources, reduce environmental impact and carbon footprint, achieve the goal of sustainable development, and become a socially responsible enterprise.

Uchampak in Sustainable Innovation

Sustainable development has always been Uchampak's pursuit.

Uchampak's factory has passed the FSC forest environmental protection system certification. The raw materials are traceable and all the materials are from renewable forest resources, striving to promote global forest development.

We invested in laying 20,000 square meters of solar photovoltaic panels in the factory area, generating more than one million degrees of electricity annually. The clean energy generated can be used for the production and life of the factory. Giving priority to the use of clean energy is one of the important measures to protect the environment. At the same time, the factory area uses energy-saving LED light sources, which is more energy-saving and environmentally friendly.

In terms of raw materials, in addition to wood, we actively use other renewable and more environmentally friendly raw materials, such as bamboo, sugarcane, flax, etc.

In terms of technology, we use food-grade degradable inks, and independently develop Mei's water-based coatings based on ordinary water-based coatings, which can not only meet the needs of waterproof and oil-proof paper food packaging, but also meet the environmental protection needs of easy degradation, and also reduce manufacturing costs.

It has obvious advantages in performance, environmental protection and price. We have also repeatedly improved machines and other production technologies in order to pursue the manufacture of a variety of more environmentally friendly and practical paper packaging products.

Material Sourcing

Multi-channel materials

Recycling pulp can reduce the demand for fresh wood. Bamboo, as a fast-growing renewable material, is more suitable for the production of paper packaging. Bagasse is a byproduct of sugarcane juice extraction. It is rich in fiber and has the characteristics of biodegradability and compostability. Plant fibers such as rice straw and wheat straw are one of the agricultural wastes, and the production process is more energy-efficient than wood pulp.

FSC-Certified Wood

Strictly select FSC-Certified Wood, and the certification ensures that the wood comes from sustainably managed forests. Reasonable logging of wood avoids excessive consumption of forest resources and does not cause permanent damage to the ecological system. Using FSC-certified wood helps protect global forest resources and promotes forest regeneration and healthy development. FSC-certified forests must maintain ecological functions.

If forests are protected, biodiversity will also be guaranteed. At the same time, forests are important carbon sinks that can absorb carbon dioxide and store it in trees and soil. FSC certification protects wildlife habitats by implementing eco-friendly management methods

Plant-Based Liners

Conventional water-based coated paper cups are made with a unique waterproof barrier coating, which reduces the materials needed. Each cup is leakproof and durable. Based on this, we developed a unique Meishi water-based coating. This coating is not only waterproof and oil-proof, but also biodegradable in a shorter time. And on the water-based coating, the required materials are further reduced, which further reduces the cost of making the cup.

Energy Efficiency

In terms of energy, we continuously optimize production processes and technologies, reduce waste by improving processes, and reduce energy consumption through frequency conversion and automation. On the other hand, we try to use renewable clean energy, such as solar energy, biomass energy, wind energy, etc. We have already installed our own solar panels in the factory. On this basis, we also strengthen the reuse of energy and reduce energy consumption.

Water Conservation

Paper packaging factories use a huge amount of water resources. As a green factory, we also have our own way of saving water resources. First, our technological improvement allows us to reduce water-using processes. Second, we will continue to improve the recycling rate of water resources and use water according to quality. We will strengthen the treatment and reuse of wastewater.

Waste Reduction

In terms of reducing waste, first of all, we are constantly optimizing the production process, increasing the proportion of automated production, data monitoring and optimization, and reducing the waste of raw materials. The update of technology and processes has improved the utilization rate of materials. At the same time, we are constantly practicing waste classification and recycling, and strengthening internal recycling. For convenient transportation, we insist on actively promoting supply chain collaboration, selecting sustainable suppliers, and reducing unnecessary transportation packaging as much as possible.

In order to alleviate the increasingly severe environmental pressure, we have launched compostable paper product. Compostable paper product are environmentally friendly products made of biodegradable materials. Under appropriate conditions, they can naturally decompose into organic matter and reduce environmental pollution. The surface coatings of our paper cups are preferably biodegradable coatings, such as PLA or water-based coatings. In addition, we have independently developed Mei’s water-based coatings based on conventional water-based coatings. While ensuring the function remains unchanged, the cost is reduced, allowing the water-based coating to be further promoted.

Recycling Programs

For environmentally friendly paper products, waste recycling is also an important step in degradation. We have a waste recycling plan within the factory. After sorting the waste, we recycle production waste paper, coating or glue, etc.
In addition, we have also designed a product recycling plan. We print "recyclable" signs and instructions on the packaging, and actively establish cooperative relationships with local environmental protection organizations and enterprises to establish a paper packaging recycling network.

Biodegradable Coatings

The biodegradable coatings we commonly use are mostly PLA coatings and water-based coatings, but the prices of these two coatings are relatively expensive. In order to make the application of biodegradable coatings more extensive, we independently developed Mei's coating.

This coating not only ensures the application effect, but also further reduces the price of water-based coatings, making the application scope of biodegradable coatings wider.

Research and Development

We not only conduct a lot of research and development in coating, but also invest a lot of efforts in the development of other products. We launched the second and third generation cup holders.

By improving the structure, we reduced the use of unnecessary materials, streamlined the structure while ensuring the hardness and stiffness required for normal use of the cup holder, making our cup holder more and more environmentally friendly. Our new product, the stretch paper plate, uses stretching technology to replace glue bonding, which not only makes the paper plate more environmentally friendly, but also healthier.
